Welcome to Almaoke Online · User's Guide
Hello there!
As we're based in Spain (well, Barcelona isn't technically "Spain", but anyway...) our main language is Spanish. The platform we work with in the development of this online community (Ning) only allows for programmers to work with one single language. Sorry about that...
1. SIGN UP! On the right column, on top, you will find the REGISTRARSE link. Click and enter your nickname, password and email address. (If you're already registered, just click on INICIAR SESION and log in.)
2. If you're here because someone has sent you an invitation, make sure you're a member of your friend's group. Remember that only 4 members in each group can participate as "Singers" in our Almaoke Festival, the rest can only join a group as a Fan.
3. If you've no idea of how you got here but would like to participate anyway, or maybe you're just a Fan and would like to create your own group as a Singer, find colleagues at our discussion thread "Busco Colegas".
4. Customise your profile at "Mi página", setting the appearance of your personal page, level of privacity and frequency with which you'd like to receive notifications from the online community via email.
5. The tab ENGLISH contains links to our Rules, Submission form, Casting and Chat. As a "User" you can create discussion threads in our Forum, upload videos, music and photos and create your own group. Remember that this community was devised to share resources regarding Karaoke. There are thousands of communities where you can discuss any other topic in the universe, ok?
6. Do not duplicate dicussion threads in our forum. Take a good look at the threads already open before you post a new one. We'll be very G*R*A*T*E*F*U*L.
7. If you're in Spain investing some of your time reading these lines, you're probably studying Spanish or planning to stay here for a while. Well... take this opportunity to contact Spanish speaking folks and practice your Spanish! I won't translate the whole site for you! But anyway, feel free to contact me if you have any queries ;)
